two weeks ago thee wonderful miss erin was awarded for her fabulous blog filled with life's treasures such as family and friends with touches of flowers and her love for knitting. make sure you visit dropped stitches to find out more about miss erin, her blog is filled with enjoyable reading material and fantastic images to match.

i am delighted and honored to say that miss erin has sweetly and graciously passed on her award "the versatile blogger" to le passion for fashion and cannot thank her enough for having thought of me that way.

with this award comes a fun little task of having to divulge you with some facts, seven to be exact, you may not know about little ol' me which i'll try to keep fashion related as much as i can.......

1. as miss erin i too know how to crochet and love it. find it fun and a perfect stress reliever. just haven't done much of it lately. i've even found a great place to gather with likes alike for an evening of crocheting and making friends at the famous la knitterie parisienne. i thank my grandma mona for my first knitting lessons starting with granny squares.

2. when i was little maybe 6, 7 or 8, i'm sorry don't remember the exact age but somewhere in that range i experienced my first high heel feel and walk which only lasted for a moment. my step-grandmother, mom and i were all delighted and in love with the idea of little girl me in my first heels but my step-dad (RIP) was no happy camper, he opposed by saying i was too young for them and asked both his mom and my mom to take them off and return them. you may think this was a bittersweet moment, but not all, i love my step-daddy who was more of a father to me (that is another story though), i don't even remember being sad or mad or even throwing a tantrum over my step-dad's decision. in fact i appreciate him looking out for me in this way and in wanting me just be me at that time, a little girl.

3. miss erin shared her first job, so i guess it is safe to say that mine was at chuck e. cheese's, how fashionable is that? he he. and no i never dressed up as chuck e. for kid's parties as much as my hubby and some of my friends may like to joke, but i did take robin williams son's birthday reservation and even got to see him in person, wearing a yellow rain jacket, funny thing i don't remember rain that day.

4. i'll confess i'm a glossie junkie. love them much, i've decided to become a subscriber to most of them since they are less expensive this way.

5. madonna! my favorite icon till this day...as a teen i listened to her music religiously and tried to emulate her by dressing in black, wearing black rubber bracelets, crucifix jewelry and aqua net teased hair

6. although nothing became of it, it was time well spent on my weekends as a teenager when i attended modeling school. i still have fond memories of those days, my teacher was sweet as a dove who taught us how to pivot and pose, how to coordinate and create great looking outfits and most of all poise and elegance.

7. as much as i love black...yellow seems to touch and fill me with charm. maybe it has to do with our current season or maybe not. whatever it may be i cannot have enough of it and already find myself buying and buying more of it when out shopping.

in case you may not know...i have a shoe fetish.

i eek and lust over gorgeous shoes such as these in this post captured by the people of jak and jil.

this segment is rather past due, but has always been in back of mind and so glad i am bringing yet another installment thanks to j and j and a co-worker of mine who wore the cutest and prettiest red flowery wedges i've seen in awhile. wish you were there to know exactly what i mean and also wish i had my camera with me to capture them and share with you. hopefully i can do that next time she wears them.

ooh how i'd love to add each one of these pairs to my collection, but for now i'll just have to live vicariously through these hot shoe mavens

and what girl does not like pink, fuschia, or even shocking pink (by christian louboutin)? i know i do and i thnk even barbie would approve.

hello lovely le passion for fashion fashionistas and hunnies

oh how i miss you all so very much. i am posting a quick hello and wanna let you know i will be back soon with more posts. i know i have a lot of catching up to do, both with posting and personally visiting your lovely blogs and responding to all the AWESOME, LOVELY, SWEET and BEAUTIFUL comments i've been receiving from many of you. each of your wonderful hellos mean so very much to me right now and appreciate so very much your understanding of my hiatus.

as some of you may know...i started a new job this past monday. my job is a whole other story/post. all i can say is that i am loving it each day more and more. the only downfall is the travel time i spend on getting there and returning home at the end of the day...if you live in california, then i don't have to explain the {dreaded} 405, he he. but enough of that, this is a fashion blog, so let's stay focused.

tonight's fashion illustrations come from none other than the famous mr. ruben toledo. i've fallen for them so much i am coveting them and am thinking of framing and displaying them inside my walk-in-closet. mr. toledo's work has been used, displayed and featured everywhere, to many to list, but these in particular, for nordstrom's ad campaign were found inside my vogue aug 2006 copy and i could'nt wait to share them with you. toledo's stylish, charming and witty illustrations can also be found inside nina garcia's fashion books. here he created masterpieces illustrating for nordstrom's designer collections by marc jacobs, thakoon and michael kors.

happy memorial day weekend!

came across the photo above earlier this week and loved it at first sight. not only did i find it patriotic hence the mini flag but also suitable for this holiday weekend. sightseeing, beach going and just chillin' under the sun is the perfect setting and way to celebrate a 3-day weekend. but most of all it was the backdrop of these photos that did it for me. like the rollin' gorgeous and curvaceous hilltops and Neptune's NET, a surfside dive-n-dine place located at one my favorite beaches, Malibu. i've been dying to feast on Neptunes' famous beer batter fish and chips since i first saw them featured on Racheal Ray's $40 a Day.

but getting back my new editorial love, which soon after i made it mission to find out the facts behind image no. 1. the shoot featuring model Magdalena Frackowiak for ‘Feel Free’ in Vogue Germany May 2010 was captured by photographer Horst Diekgerdes. Styled by fashion editor Julia von Boehm, this vibrant spread features pieces from Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana and Prada. Keeping with the denim trend, the great mix of colors and patterns keeps ‘Feel Free’ in Vogue Germany looking fresh.

i am love-loving the shorts from the top image, the blue collar below, plus the fuschia and animal print skirt, denim fanny pack and the colorful blue leopard tank.

came across these pretty sandals from Miss Trish of Capri while shopping at Target not too long ago. love each pair of these ocean inspired sandals festooned with sea creatures and shiny, sparkly stones. i've never really been a sea creature type of girly, but all that has changed after looking at these pretties. these will surely add some sparkle to your warm weather classics or will be perfect for a day at the beach walking down the boardwalk or for your hampton style partay.

i know it's spring and summer is soon coming, but i cannot forget last winter when i got stuck in a bind outside in the cold and rainy weather. got soaked in my flats and starting wishing i had some rain boots.

recently my bloggy friend Megan reminded me of this notion when i saw her pretty-in-fuschia rain boots pick.

i am ABSO-LUTE-LY in LA-LA-LOVE with these leather and wooden platforms

any which way i look at them i am just more and more ENAMORED by them

starting with it's fabulous color, FUSCHIA, the cutout lattice and white stiching and how cute is the flower print bottoms? sweet, hunh? i know, i know. and have i mentioned peep-toe, love me peep-toes to show of an oh so pretty pedicure.

are any of you hunnies romping around in one of these yet? i am so tempted. i keep seeing them around and always tickled by all the fun and delightful prints i come across with, like these from Heritage 1981

i am also thinking outside the box here with these fun dainty floral and beautiful paisley printed skirts from Heritage 1981 as well. love the prints and all but skirts nowadays, especially from forever 21 are super short, but still worth a looksy, right? but, i think i can get away with the sweet denim wrap skirt okay which is knee length.

Felix Rey clutches are currently on sale at Swirl if you did not know already. i don't have many clutches, but these are some that i would love to add to my miniscule collection. love the colors, cute accents and piping on the pink one, the black mesh with a shell clasp is lined with leopard (rawr!) grosgrain. they are only $39 each! except for the meshy one, that one is $109 but still a knock-out price for a spectacular night out and Swirl is even waiving shipping fees through May 23! there's lots more colors available too.

happy Saturday hunnies! i hope you are having a fabulous weekend

not only being a Madonna fan, but i could not help myself in falling in love with her cover shoot for Vogue's Oct 1992 issue. hippie chic seems to be the craze right now, so how appropriate i found it to share the above and the rest i was happy to find in our trusty friend, the web. love the colors and stud details on her bell bottoms, striped turtleneck, floppy hat, and the camel color suede saddle bag, she looks absolutely pretty in all.

if you notice, i photoshopped the image below with a butterfly over Madonna's sheer blouse to give her a little more privacy and/or not to offend any of my readers. either way, i think the butterfly sticker kinda just goes with the whole bohemian vibe in Madonna's wardrobe styling, don't you think?

Chanel is reviving the 70's with it's new Resort 2011 Collection

and i am loving it for the casual, carefree and very down-to-earth look and appeal

last Tuesday in beautiful and sunny Saint-Tropez, a day before the start of the star-studded film festival in the neighboring French Riviera town of Cannes, Karl Lagerfeld's models arrived via speedboat. And like the carefree starlets and jet-setters they were channeling, the models traipsed down the street-cum-runway often barefoot with only baby blue nail polish as their sole foot adornment, wearing seventies-ish diaphanous caftans, long crocheted dresses, cropped jackets in pastel knits, ruffle-lapelled silk jersey trouser suits, and patchwork denim skirts. the collection practically banished Chanel's trademark minimalist mix of black and white, with looks bathed in autumnal, '70s shades of brown and yellow.

i've gathered a few of my favorites pieces from Monsieur Lagerfeld's latest creations plus a short (16 mins) film, Remember Now inspired by Chanel Resort 2011 Collection which i think you will enjoy, it might even make you get up from your chair and dance a little, if so, just dance like no one is watching.

before she became Coco Chanel she was and always remained Gabrielle, a young lady with many hopes and dreams with beautiful visions and inspirations of how women should dress...that is how i felt when i saw Coco avant Chanel. to our fortunate delight Mademoiselle Chanel brought those visions and inspirations to fruition and created an empire many women have fallen in love with.

come now...these beautiful photographs of Mademoiselle Chanel's posh Paris apartment recently taken by Alix who had the wonderful privelege of stepping into a universe of such wonderfulness that can only come from one place only at 31 Rue Cambon.

Mademoiselle Chanel's apartment is pure perfection, sophisticated and elegant and yet seems very homey and warm...ahhh, i am dreaming and wishing i could just click on my ruby red slippers and be magically transported to the wonderful world of Chanel.

another familiar face in fashion i noticed in the same issue of Vogue as previously mentioned in my last post was that of Kate Moss. ad after ad after ad. yes i know who she is and have seen and heard about her countless times but never experienced pages and pages of her posing for many famous designers all at one time. but i am not complaining i am just more focused on her to notice how pretty indeed she is, perfect and radiant skin, gorgeous body and truly talented in front of the camera. i can just imagine this girl's bank account, is there one even that big? anyhow here are just some of the ad campaign photos inside this Vogue issue where Kate's beauty radiates...enjoy.

while perusing the web for my earlier cinco de mayo posts here and here i came across the image above of Supermodel, Naomi Campbell. i was instantly drawn to the gorgeous yellow floor lenght skirt and tulle and white fedora plus the beautiful mexican locale; hacienda and streets. i hearted it and later found the image to be from the creative works of Ellen von Unwerth, whose become one my favorite fashion photographers. a shoot where Naomi together with model Tony Ward for editorial "Heat of the Moment/Mexico" originally appearing in the pages of Vogue March 1998.

i am in love with the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo inspiration for a bride-to-be. Frida, whose life was just as colorful as her artwork loved adorning her braided hair with colorful and bright ribbons or flowers and wore big, bold and chunky jewelry, elements of which make a stunning bride.

i've finally finished flipping through the pages and reading Posh's bka Victoria Beckham's interview inside Glamour's March 2010 issue and let me tell you not only was i impessed with Victoria's look by itself or the ever magnificent work by Ellen von Unwerth and stylist Walter Barnett and all the other creative people behind Posh's look but mostly in finding out how really down-to-earth she is.

yes, she does live a glamorous life, traveling around the world, wearing the best clothes and having one of the world's sexiest man as her husband but she has gained all that and more by her personal achievements such as selling 52 million albums and having her own high-end fashion line but what i find most glamorous about our little Posh is that she manages to be a great mummy to her boys, she even serves lunches at their school, how sweet is that?! and she is not one bit jealous of the girls that go goo-goo gaa-gaa over her David

reading yesterday's paper i came in contact with Grant Cowan's gorgeous and fascinating fashion illustrations. these i've gathered here are not the same ones i saw, but just more of his divine work i was able to find at eye candy and could now consider myself an among fan of his intricate and beautiful art. whenever i see pretty illustrations like Grant's i start imagining them beautifully matted and framed and graciously displayed on a vanity or adorning a bedroom wall to add a femine touch.

furthermore, Grant Cowan has worked as an illustrator on magazines like Harper's Bazaar, Glamour and Red magazine. he studied fashion design and lived in London before moving to Australia to teach fashion illustration. Grant is a freelance fashion illustrator and works with fashion schools in Sydney.

what is not to love from these beautiful and magnificent underwater images shot by one of my favorite fashion photographers, Sølve Sundsbø. love her makeup, her hair has been styled to look like seaweed and the touch of pearls here and there is just perfection if you ask me. the set was styled by George Cortina and the gorgeously bejeweled model in Miu Miu, Versace and the late Alexander McQueen is Alla Kostromichova for editorial entitled 'The Girl from Atlantis’ inside the pages of Vogue Nippon May 2010.

i can tell you i really didn't think much when i first came across the image above of Milla Jovovich for Harper's Bazaar Singapore April 2010 just taken aback by her ever glowing beauty. as i looked through the rest of the same editorial pictures of Milla looking rather robotishly diva in this season's Burberry Prorsum i became dumbfounded as i recognized the locale of the shoot by Simon Upton and can now add it to my editorial love. i can also proudly say that i once checked into the same Pink Motel with my parents when i was a little girl and can actually take you there if you'd like, i am only 5 minutes away from it. Gosh! if only i knew how close Milla was to me, i'd run there in a heartbeat or...

...or maybe just hop on the next LA Metro bus on San Fernando Road

...seems to be the question in my mind this Spring.

well it seems the clog has resurected and is back in force thanks to Karl Lagerfeld whom re-introduced them to the fashion world during Chanel's Spring 2010 runway.

as much as i would love to own me a pair of Mr. Lagerfeld's/Chanel's own lovely version of the Dutch clog, the $1800 price ticket is not within my reach...

so i've looked around for options and these are just some that are worth a try, same studded detailing and made of leather without breaking the bank
